glastonav shows the way
Great little application to be aware of if you haven’t already left for Glastonbury. Orange are providing a static map of the event (download http://www.glastonav.co.uk/)
Like our system it displays a map, however there isn’t any interactivity like ‘my tent location’ or ‘the closest ATM’
Our approach is to offer the attendees a totally free experience by giving access through our site wide WiFi network – but it’s a great example of why this kind of new technology can help people find their tents…friend…who’s on the main stage when…whatever!

IT should be easy
IT. It’s funny being in an IT company talking about IT with people who have better things to do. Normally look after the kids and do a job. Any discussion about IT seems to lead to someone cowering behind a desk in fear of high costs and long delivery times
We do IT. IT is easy. If IT isn’t easy something is incorrectly configured, overcomplicated or just plain wrong. It’s only a calculator
Things you should think about when looking at your IT solutions (simple questions that sometimes get lost in the fog) are…- What are you trying to do
- When do you want to do it
- Who is going to be doing it
A few more details are still required…like who should be doing it (everyone?) constraints of your current system etc. But start with the points above.

Damp sky’s but a bright season start
So the first few events of the season are under our belt. Good fun and even a few tanning days which is a great sign.
Our self powered wireless PODs are working brilliantly. These can be deployed over a large indoor or outdoor site to provide a self sustaining network. The great thing about this network is how flexible we can make it. Connecting cash machines to the internet to avoid trailing phone lines, connecting press and event organising teams to the net is just the start. We have also provided temporary CCTV cameras and expended pre existing networks to outdoor areas for event duration
It all makes for happy customers
PS – Who wants an EEE PC 901? Me please. Nothing better than a lightweight laptop with solid state hard drive (no issues when completing outdoor surveys)
