Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Systems are now coming of age. For many years RFID systems have been successfully deployed as a purely asset tracking technology. Now paired with new innovations like cashless payment systems RFID has become mainstream and of critical interest for many industry sectors.

Applications

RFID tags allow small amounts of data to be held on a microchip which can be activated by a nearby receiver. This data, which may just be an identification number, can then be looked up on a database. Many customers are exploring using this technology, which is now being built into mobile phones and credit cards, with their venues and events for loyalty and access systems.

How It Works

Each card, lanyard, wristband, credit card or mobile phone can carry a certain amount of data. This data can be used to allow a number of systems to work.
